Monthly Faves (June)

What has been occupying us for the past month(ish), from books to podcasts to recipes and beauty products. We were in and out of lockdown in June so this month was all about the good feeling things, including op shopping and Love on the Spectrum!
Organising an Op Shop Day (Lilly)
It’s no secret I absolutely adore op shopping but setting aside a whole day with a friend to dedicate to catching up and scouring op shops just hits different. My friend Dan and I chose the Kilsyth op shop hot spot which hosts a massive Salvos, Vinnies and Brotherhood of St Laurence all side-by-side (!!). We started the day off with brunch, and then took our sweet time rummaging through the racks of each shop before meeting up again to try our treasures on and ask each other’s opinions. I recently moved house too, so it was the perfect time to pick up some household items for my new place. I really can’t recommend op shopping enough – it’s better for the earth, better for your wallet and better for building a unique wardrobe.
Love on the Spectrum (Talani)
If Victoria’s last lockdown was a long, dark, unexpected tunnel, then discovering and subsequently bringing the entirety of Love on the Spectrum was the light at the end of it. It is a light-hearted, compassionate and endearing series that follows young people on the autism spectrum dating and navigating relationships. Unlike other reality dating shows, it does not feel overly produced or designed in a way of igniting drama. And it reminds us that there is so much love beyond just the romantic kind with our family, friends and support network. I don’t want to spoil anything because I want you all to enjoy the show as much as I do! It’s also free to watch on ABC iview.
